In Lviv, a master class at the “Leoland” sports complex for young tennis players was held by the famous Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina together with the extensist and military officer of National Guard of Ukraine Serhiy Stakhovsky.
Almost half a thousand young athletes — boys and girls of various age categories from 6 to 16 years old — took part in the master class.

“We understood that the arrival of Elina Svitolina and Serhii Stakhovsky at Leoland would cause excitement among young athletes. But, I admit, we were surprised by the number of people willing to attend the master class: in two hours, several hundred parents contacted us and registered their children for the event. During the event, it was very pleasant to watch the children, they were happy to have the opportunity to talk with Elina and Sergey, take an autograph and take a photo. The children’s eyes shone, we all miss these sincere emotions very much now. Therefore, our sports complex is happy to open its doors for such good projects,” said the investor of the Leoland sports complex Oleksandr Svishchov.
Soon, such workshops are planned to be held in other cities of Ukraine.
“There are a lot of talented children in Ukraine. We already take care of many of them, but such master classes help discover even more tennis players, so we continue to organize them. It takes a lot of time and effort, but it is the least we can do for our country, for its future. There are a lot of children here today, even more than we expected. These are very positive emotions, so we are very happy to be here,” Elina Svitolina emphasized.

The master class was attended by Ukrainian military personnel undergoing rehabilitation at the “Unbroken” center. Most of the boys held rackets in their hands for the first time in their lives, but tennis fascinated them so much that now they want to continue their lessons.
“It is a pity that there is not enough time. They all want more, and we just don’t have the physical capacity, so it all goes very quickly. But we do what we can for the children,” adds Serhiy Stakhovsky.
The Foundation of Elina Svitolina and the management of “Leoland” discussed the future possibility of organizing similar projects for children on the courts of the complex.
“We saw how Elina and Serhii treat children with love and how they managed to give children positive emotions. It is important for us that Ukrainian children during the war have the opportunity to develop both physically and mentally. Therefore, we discussed with Elina Svitolina the possibility of holding a summer camp for children at the “Leoland” courts. We want to organize a sports camp together with the Svitolina Foundation. Now I can say that this event will take place in the summer, soon we will inform about the format and time of the camp,” Oleksandr Svishchov emphasized.
In “Leoland” there is a school for the smallest tennis players “LeoSport”. Here, children have been playing tennis since they were three years old. The club employs seven professional coaches who have received a good basis for training athletes, and the children have the opportunity to develop and glorify Ukraine on the international stage in the future.
During the year of operation of the complex, it was possible to hold major tennis tournaments, championships of Ukraine among children and adults, which had not been held in Lviv for more than ten years.
“Leoland is a combination of great sports and children’s dreams,” summed up the Ukrainian businessman and main investor Oleksandr Svishchov.
