The year 2024 has become extremely difficult for Ukraine, as well as for Ukrainian water polo, but despite all the difficulties, the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation continues to develop and strives for new heights.

Federation President Oleksandr Svishchov thanked all athletes and fans for their support and noted that new achievements and victories await them in 2025.

“This year was very difficult for our state and our sport, but we did everything in our power to ensure that water polo developed. We participated in many international competitions, and although the results were not always at their peak, I believe that in 2025 we will win, and the results will be much better,” said Oleksandr Svishchov .

National water polo team player Roman Hryshchuk thanked the Ukrainian defenders and emphasized that even in difficult conditions, the country continues to move forward, overcoming all difficulties.

“This year has become proof that we can become stronger and reach new heights,” Roman noted.

National team captain Oleksandr Dyadyura emphasized the importance of developing children’s water polo and wished the young athletes good luck and health in 2025.

“Let everyone set goals in the New Year and achieve them, bringing our common victory closer,” said Oleksandr.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year, women’s national team player Viktoria Ovsinska called for the restoration of water polo in cities such as Mariupol, Odesa, and Kramatorsk.

“I wish the young players to represent Ukraine on the international stage and that the Ukrainian anthem sounds more often after our victories,” she added.

Last year, the All-Ukrainian Water Polo Tournament among young men born in 2011 attracted particular attention, as it not only became an important sporting event but also a symbol of honoring the memory of Vitaliy Lisun. The tournament was attended by young athletes who aspire to continue the work of the legendary water polo player.

Oleksandr Svishchov, President of the Federation, was also awarded the “Treasure of the Nation 2024” award for his contribution to the development of sports and the cultural front of Ukraine. This award was a recognition of his selfless work for the benefit of Ukraine, as well as a significant contribution to strengthening the positive image of the country.

In conclusion, all representatives of water polo in Ukraine expressed a common hope that 2025 will bring peace, stability, and new opportunities for the development and prosperity of Ukrainian sports.
