With the support of the well-known Lviv businessman and philanthropist Oleksandr Svishchov, the artistic and educational project of the People’s Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Kozyuk “Prayer for Ukraine” was opened in the Dining Hall of the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”.
Traditions of patronage in Ukraine have deep historical roots. And today, as a century ago, there are caring Ukrainians who are ready to invest their money in the development of the country. Their charitable contributions are an important addition to state support in many areas of life.

Continuing the glorious traditions of Ukrainian patronage, Oleksandr Svishchov is today one of its brightest representatives. His support for such large-scale projects as “Prayer for Ukraine” is an important contribution to preserving Ukraine’s cultural heritage and strengthening national unity.
The image of the “Ukrainian Madonna” is the central theme of the exhibition, which personifies not only the Mother of God, but also all Ukrainian women-mothers, the events taking place in Ukraine today, war, suffering and faith in Victory.
“Prayer for Ukraine” is a new step of the artistic direction “Art through Awareness”. And the subjects of the paintings are not just prototypes of today’s Ukraine, but also faith in a better future.

Oleksandr Svishchov noted : “The deep philosophical subtext of the project, initiated by the People’s Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Kozyuk, is of exceptional importance for modern Ukrainian culture. This project is a powerful reminder of the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians who, even in the most difficult times, choose the path of serving their country, supporting defenders and creating the future.”
Currently, Ukraine needs a radical transformation of its image on the world stage, the authors of the project emphasized. It is important to show that we are not only a country that defends its freedom, but also a state with a centuries-old history and a unique culture. It is through art that we can demonstrate to the world all the depth and richness of our statehood.

“Volodymyr Kozyuk’s project is a powerful message about the strength of the Ukrainian spirit and the importance of art in times of trials,” added Oleksandr Svishchov.
Last year, the philanthropist supported the project “Ukraine through the ages” — a bright art exhibition, which was opened on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine in the National Reserve “Sofia Kyivska”. Its peculiarity is that the audience was presented with seven paintings that personify the regions of Ukraine, their history through the image of a young girl surrounded by the most important historical and artistic artifacts of the region.

Oleksandr Svishchov, a modern Ukrainian philanthropist , continues the traditions of his predecessors, supporting art and culture in difficult times. His contribution to projects such as “Prayer for Ukraine” and “Ukraine Through the Ages” made these projects possible. The projects became a symbol of unity and support of the Ukrainian people in the struggle for independence. They are a visiting card of the country, and will be presented in many European countries in the near future,” said People’s Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Kozyuk.

The projects overseen by Oleksandr Svishchov have considerable social resonance. They clearly demonstrate that Ukrainians are an indomitable people who have rallied around common values: serving the Motherland, helping those in need, and believing in a better future.
