On 24 August, Ukraine’s Independence Day, the 3rd Open National Beach Water Polo Championships took place in Lviv. The tournament became a symbol of unity and strength of spirit: despite the cold weather, athletes presented colourful matches.

Competition results:

• 🏆 Lviv Lions-1 Water polo club – champion (third consecutive year: 2023, 2024, 2025)
• 🥈 Water polo club “Lviv-2”
• 🥉 NTU “KHPI-1654” (Kharkiv)
• 🏅 KIVS (Lviv)

In the match for 3rd place, the team from Kharkiv defeated KIVS 10:0 and the final ended with Lions-1 winning over Lions-2 15:13.

President of the Water Polo Federation of Ukraine Oleksandr Svishchov, addressing the athletes and spectators, stressed the importance of Independence:

“Independence must be defended every day – on the frontline, in sport, in our lives. Thank you to the defenders and defenders for the opportunity to compete and celebrate this day. Glory to Ukraine!”
